Henry Brunton

Henry Brunton is one of the world’s leading golf coaches and educators. Elected a PGA of America Member in 2021, the thirty-five year veteran of the  PGA of Canada Master Professional is the first Canadian recognized as a GOLF Magazine Top 100 Teacher in America. In addition to being a four-time national award recipient by the PGA of Canada, including 2016 National Teacher of the Year and 2018 National Coach of the Year, recognized by Golf Digest – “Best in Country” and “Top International Teacher”; US Kids Golf- Kids Master Teacher, by the PGA’s of Europe with its most prestigious honor- The 5 Star Professional Award and by Future Champions Golf as a Top 25 Elite Junior Coach in the USA. 

Brunton served as the Canadian National Team Coach from the inception of the acclaimed program in 1999 until 2011. He led teams to several international victories worldwide and has coached and developed four world junior champions; 2 NCAA Men’s DI champions, 16 NCAA All-Americans, and a host of athletes who have graduated onto the Web.Com, PGA, and LPGA Tours.

A graduate of the University of Ottawa, Brunton is the creator of the PGA of Canada’s Teaching and Coaching Certification Program. He is the author of “Journey to Excellence,” “High-Performance Golf,” and the “Henry Brunton Golf Academy Learning Guide.” Henry and Dr. Rick Jensen conduct professional development seminars nationwide for PGA/LPGA Professionals under the Certified Golf Coaches brand. The Henry Brunton Golf Academy is based in Canada at Eagles Nest G.C. near Toronto and in the USA at Royal St. Cloud Golf Links in Orlando, FL.

Rhonda Fleury, BA

A native of Calgary, AB, Rhonda Fleury is one of Canada’s most outstanding female golf professionals. A graduate of the University of Manitoba, Rhonda has been committed to the sport of golf since her teenage years. She is a Class A Member of the  PGA of Canada who has been crowned as a champion player and recognized as an elite teacher and coach. She has been honoured as the PGA of Ontario Female Golf Professional of the Year and PGA of Ontario Junior Leader of the Year. Rhonda has been a leader with Henry Brunton Golf since 2002- a favourite with students and a key contributor to the growth and success of the academy. 

Rhonda Fleury is a gifted golf coach and educator. She has written numerous articles for golf publications and her instruction has appeared on television. Rhonda has a warm personality and excellent communication skills. Students of all ages and abilities are certain to benefit from her experience and expertise.

Ben Groome, PGA of Canada

A native of Simcoe, Ontario, Ben Groome is one of the top young coaches in Ontario. A Georgian College Professional Golf Management Program graduate, Ben is a PGA of Canada Teaching and Coaching Specialist with eight years of experience – most recently, Director of Instruction at Vespra Hills Golf Club in Barrie, Ontario. Ben has a passion for playing and competing – a three-time winner on the Vancouver Professional Golf Tour. He is a student of the game who is enthusiastic about coaching and club fitting – Titleist Certified Club Fitting Specialist and TrackMan Certified. Ben has outstanding communication skills and a pleasant disposition, making him extremely popular with students of all ages and abilities. Ben is available by appointment for private coaching and club fitting at HBGA at Eagles Nest.

Branden McLeod, PGA of Canada

A native of Kitchener/Cambridge, Ontario, Branden McLeod completed his PGA education and certification at McMaster University. He joins the Henry Brunton Golf Academy at Eagles Nest as a six-year veteran Class A Member of the PGA of Canada. He previously worked at GolfTec, the Bradlee Ryall Golf Academy, and Dragons Fire Golf Club.

Branden has a multi-sport background- excelled in both hockey and golf. He is a full-time golf coach and club fitter passionate about helping golfers of all ages and abilities to play better golf. He incorporates video and TrackMan technology into his coaching experience. Branden has an outgoing personality that makes him popular with his students.

Branden enjoys playing competitive golf and keeping his game sharp. He competes regularly in PGA of Ontario Professional events and has posted several top finishes.

Dean Hartman, PGA

Dean Hartman brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Henry Brunton Golf Academy. A native of South Dakota, Dean has been a PGA of America Professional since 1986. He returned to the US after an eight-year posting in Malaysia, where he was the Director of Instruction for the MST Golf Academy in Kuala Lampur. In Malaysia, Dean was the Program Director for the “Road to the 2016 Olympics” Training Program- two male and two female athletes qualified for and competed in the Rio Summer Games.

Dean was Head Coach for the Sime Darby LPGA Development Program, in which six of those players advanced to the professional ranks. He coached eight international junior champions; fourteen female golfers/seven male golfers are now on NCAA golf scholarships. In 2011, Dean was recognized by Golf Digest as the Top Teacher in Malaysia and as Teacher of the Year by the National Professional Golf Instructors Association.

Dean has been an integral member of the HBGA Coaching Staff since 2016. He is a Coach for the HBGA Full-Time High-Performance Junior Academy. Students of all ages enjoy Dean’s patient manner and his deep passion for helping others play better golf.
